I did this review a few days ago, and actually forgot to post it lol. Hopefully this will serve to inspire people and, well, keep myself accountable to doing the things that I should be doing and strive to do better each month.
Monthly review of January 2025
What went well this week?
- Finished my work project of creating profiles on marketplaces
- Made quite a bit of progress on the auth system of a website for my uni's research group
- Posted two blog posts this month, instead of my usual one blog per month (probably should've scheduled it to post on February though).
What didn't go well this month?
- Procrastinated a lot on my studying and ended up not making much progress on my thesis and uni projects
- I have to re-do the whole project for the uni's research group from scratch, since the code is so messy that database passwords can be accessed through the console. That's not very safe.
- Uni classes are re-starting on February, so my schedule will be packed again, and I'm unsure if I'll even manage to squeeze a blog post per month at this rate.
What did I learn?
- I learned that I should be more rigorous about how I spend my time outside of work, so it won't just slip from my grasp and leave me achieving nothing important. Time blocking isn't working too well for this, so I'm looking for alternatives.
