Daily mindfulness, journaling and meditation for stress

Goal for 2025: reduce stress by living life more present, less distracted.

My goal boils down to doing at least one of the following, every day:

  1. Mindfulness: After finishing an action, take a two-minute pause to close your eyes, do conscious deep breathing, process what you just did and think what you are about to do next. Simple, but better than nothing.
  2. Journal: throughout the day or once at the end of the day, write down a summary of what happened (factually), but also a description of how you are feeling and what is currently stressing you out.
  3. Meditation: once a day, use any of the available (guided) meditation techniques to get at least 5 minutes of meditation/structured down time.
  4. Wind down before bed: the only thing allowed in a 45-minute window before sleeping is reading a book.

I might increase my goal threshold to 2 of the techniques per day with time.

Please join in with your own techniques and let's check in weekly!

Goal Conversation

Living life in the present is a really important goal for me as well. I would like to attempt numbers 1 and 3. Numbers 2 and 4 would be too much for me. :)

Here goes my first failure of the year: I was totally disrupted by a virus and have been living life anything but mindfully. Next week will be better.

Feeling crummy physically definitely makes mindfulness hard. Hope you are feeling better.

I have been doing pretty well with this goal actually. It's making it easier to put aside getting things done to engage with my kids.
