Simpler Approach to Dashboard - Default Note

I like the dashboard plugin concept, but it is overly complex for my needs. How about a feature that allows the user to choose a default note to open when the app starts? The default note could function as a dashboard by allowing the user to easily customize the default note by embedding other notes and content without the complexity of needing to build a plug in.
