Let's say I want to spend two hours a day reading for 25 days. I can have a recurring task, but the start time is fixed. If I move it one day within my calendar, it moves all of the future days.
Separate the individual day timing so that I can sort my diary by working in two hours of reading when I have the time.

As I understand this, it would require there to be some "canonical definition" of a task outside of its active version. But it's unclear how one would edit that "canonical version" if not by dragging the current+active instance of the event/task to a new time.
If you want to change the time it occurs every day, you can
1. Drag it on the calendar
2. Use a slash command to change its start time
3. Create a /duplicate of the task, if you want to leave the original time unchanged while you pick a new time for today's event/task
I think one of those are the best bet, since it's challenging to envision an intuitive UI that allows changing the time of a task without changing the time of its future occurrences.
